This is a list of my top 10 games for the ZX Spectrum 48k.
There may be a few surprises in this list but I have drawn up this list based on the games that I played the most during the time of release; essentially these are the ZX Spectrum 48K games that I have found most addictive to play.
Arcadia is a fast paced Galaxian style arcade game for the ZX Spectrum, Commodore 64 and Dragon 32.
Alchemist is an action adventure game for the ZX Spectrum. The player controls an alchemist who can also turn into a gold eagle. The aim of the game is to collect four pieces of a magic scroll.
As you climb into your gleaming Ground Skimmer and slide behind the highly sophisticated flight computer, the feeling of excitement slowly turns to dread. Another mission is about to begin.
If your resolve begins to weaken, think of the thousands of refugees who will die if the enemy are allowed to carry out their policy of genocide.
Remember, you are flying the fastest most deadly machine yet devised by man. You punch the launch button and are slammed back into he seat as your Ground Skimmer hurtles into the air: your instructions are clear; seek out, engage and destroy the enemy.
Your fingers hover over the weapons console...another mission begins.
Manic Miner was the first game to feature Miner Willy.

Atic Atac is set in a labyrinth of a castle and you must collect 3 pieces of a key to escape.
Tranz Am is set in a post-apocalyptic future in USA in the year 3472.
The object of the game is for the player to find all Eight Great Cups of Ultimate that are spread around America.
Sound easy? Well no, fuel is in short supply and the only way to re-fuel vehicles is to find petrol pumps, scattered across the country.

In this game we find Horace on a skiing holiday and this game is split into two challenges.
The first challenge sees Horace attempting to cross a busy road, Frogger style, to reach the ski shop.
The second challenge in this game Horace needs to navigate to the bottom of a ski slope.
